Hi! I’m Lynn Larocque, mother of four children and 4th grade elementary teacher. I live in Orléans, Ontario.
I have been a teacher for 14 years and I’ve taught all grades from Kindergarten to Grade 10. I am qualified to teach Science and Biology. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics at the University of Guelph in 1986. Then I studied Respiratory Therapy at the Toronto Institute of Medical Technology and became a Registered Respiratory Therapist in 1989. When my first baby was born in 1991, I decided to stay at home. So I was a Stay at Home Mom for ten years and attended the University of Life 🙂 In 2001, I obtained my Bachelor of Education (Baccalauréat en éducation) from Laurentian University in Sudbury. I have been a teacher ever since. In 2005, I started a Master of Arts degree in Education at the University of Ottawa. My thesis subject was “L’alimentation des élèves atteints du TDAH en milieu scolaire” which translates to “A look at ADHD students’ diet in the school setting”. Due to health reasons, I was not able to finish this thesis but I learned a lot about the relationship between the foods we eat and health.
My interest for healthy food developed when I became pregnant for the first time. This interest grew year after year. Two years ago I started following a healthy gluten free diet and noticed many improvements in my overall health which made me decide to make it a way of life. I converted a lot of my old recipes to healthy gluten free recipes, and want to share these on this blog.
I hope you will find the information useful and that you will enjoy the recipes!
